The Pumps first started performing in Winnipeg Canada in 1979 and graduated from local bars to sold-out shows across Canada. The groups live shows becoming legendary and after signing with Polygram Records and touring with the likes of Triumph and AC/DC, their radio hits “Success”, “Coffee With The Queen” and “Bust The TV” dominated the airwaves.
After a label change to CBS Records, the band changed their name to Orphan and recorded 2 albums at the legendary Power Station Recording Studio in New York which included hits “Miracle”, “Lonely At Night” and “Open Up The Skies”.
Original members, Stevie McGovern and Chris Burke-Gaffney still perform with unprecedented conviction today. and the group will release the new single “Patriot” in advance of Canada’s Remembrance Day. The documentary “Just A Little Success” which chronicles both groups up and downs was released in the Summer of 2017 to critical acclaim. It can be seen on Youtube.
